Public voting begins in the ShowUsYour.CA contest
Ottawa, March 19, 2010 – The first phase of the Canadian Internet Registration Authority’s (CIRA) ShowUsYour.CA contest has closed. With nearly 90 submissions, CIRA is incredibly excited to announce that public voting begins today to choose the winner.
Three weeks ago, CIRA invited all .CA website address holders to make a short video explaining why their website is the best. A panel of judges, including CIRA staff and Rebecca Harris, Managing Editor for Marketing Magazine (http://www.marketingmag.ca/) had the difficult task of shortlisting the videos. This team has chosen eight videos, based on their ratings in the following categories:
- Originality and creativity
- Technical quality
- Relevance
- Entertainment value
The eight finalists include:
- Our Adventures on Jfoto.ca (http://jfoto.ca)
- ArtSchoolReviews.ca (http://artschoolreviews.ca)
- Portable Radio’s .CA Rocks! (http://artschoolreviews.ca)
- Let’s show the world what Canada is made of! (http://www.karenlo.ca)
- Dringdring.ca (http://dringdring.ca/dringdring_accueil.html)
- Nick Dixon on nickdixon.ca (http://nickdixon.ca)
- CustomPrototypes.CA (http://customprototypes.ca/)
- Top 5 Reasons Motorleague Love Their .CA (http://www.themotorleague.ca/)
The grand prize winner will receive a MacBook Pro and be featured in a future .CA marketing campaign. The first runner-up will receive a 64GB iPod touch, and the second runner-up will receive a Flip UltraHD camcorder. As an added bonus, everyone who votes is entered into a draw to win a Flip UltraHD camcorder.
